Security Risk 10 Years After 9/11: How Far Have We Come and What Lies Ahead? SARMA's 5th Annual Conference will take place from 8:30 AM on Tuesday 13 September to 12:30 PM on Thursday 15 September 2011. On Tuesday evening SARMA will also host an Evening Welcome Reception.
We are once again honored that our co-host for the event will be the George Mason University School of Law's Center for Infrastructure Protection and Homeland Security (CIP/HS). We are also very pleased to report that this year's conference will take place in a beautiful new building on GMU's Arlington campus known as Founders Hall (see photo right).
Under the broad theme of Security Risk 10 Years After 9/11, we will take a retrospective look back at what we have -- or have not -- learned and accomplished over the past decade, and delve into what lies ahead for the risk profession.
Specific subject areas will include the following:
* Community Risk * Critical Infrastructure Risk * Cybersecurity Risk * Public Policy for Risk Management * Risk Education and Training * Risk Management Standards * Security Risk Methodologies and Practices
Feedback from previous SARMA Conferences:
"The keynote/plenary speakers were generally focused and highly pertinent." "Your format of one hour per speaker is FAR superior to other venues in that it allows a deeper briefing, more interaction, and less frenetic Q&A."
"As other attendees undoubtedly report, networking with attendees over lunch, at the reception, and during breaks was particularly valuable. The venue was convenient and well supported and the refreshments were good."
"From this conference, I gained depth and breadth of insight into the challenges and successes within the security analysis and risk management community."
"I believe that your conference is the premier activity for anyone in the security risk management field, particularly for those of us with a professional interest in applying risk analysis to homeland security questions."
"I enjoyed the interaction with practitioners, the well-qualified and experienced speakers and the excellent keynote speakers/presentations."
"I appreciated the diversity amongst presenters in that it included individuals representing academia, public sector, and private sector."
