CODE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND CONDUCT
for members of the
Security Analysis and Risk Management Association
 

SARMA Members shall continually strive to increase respect, confidence, trust, prestige, and recognition of the security analysis and risk management profession in both the public and private sectors. They shall do this by:

  • Acting in such a manner as to uphold and enhance the honor, integrity, and dignity of the security risk management profession.
  • Performing services only in areas of their competence.
  • Acting in professional matters as faithful agents or trustees for each employer or client, and in disclosure and/or avoidance of conflicts of interest.
  • Issuing public statements only in an objective and truthful manner.
  • Applying analytical methods diligently and fairly, resisting inappropriate pressures to modify or change findings, conclusions, or recommendations.
  • Demonstrating a personal commitment to professional development throughout their careers, and providing opportunities for the professional development of those serving under their direction and supervision.
  • Building a professional reputation on the merit of services provided, and not competing unfairly with others.
  • Promoting and encouraging full compliance with this Code within the entire security risk management profession.

By joining SARMA, members agree to abide by this code of ethics. Failure to comply with the SARMA Code of Ethics by a SARMA member is grounds for review by the SARMA Board of Directors and may can result in a written warning or revocation of SARMA membership.
