Vision

Security analysis and risk management as a mature, standardized and consistent discipline, practiced by a growing cadre of formally trained and certified professionals, making our nation and our homeland more secure through effective risk-based decision-making and resource allocation.

Mission

To promote the rapid maturation and standardization of security analysis techniques by providing sustained leadership and creating an open forum for cooperation and collaboration among all practitioners.

Goals

1. Provide a forum for security analysis and risk management professionals to share information, ideas, and methodologies and collaborate to improve the development and application of the security analysis and risk management profession

2. Standardize the professional lexicon and generally accepted security and risk analysis principles for the benefit and use of all security professionals

3. Support the professional development of members through voluntary participation in meeting minimum professional standards, education and certification in security analysis and risk management

4. Advance the profession of security analysis and risk management, thereby creating quality opportunities for security analysts and risk management professionals

5. Educate and assist decision makers and security professionals in the effective use of security analysis techniques and risk management principles

6. Promote a more effective and efficient use of security analysis and risk management techniques to enhance national, homeland and economic security

SARMA is non-partisan and strives to represent the profession in a balanced and independent manner.
